kolkata-metroHyderabad- The Hyderabad metro has picked up speed with starting construction at its first station Uppal. It is expected that this station will be ready by the end of 2o13. According to Larsen & Tuobro chief, Hyderabad metro will hopefully run in mid or by the end of  2015.

The work of pillars and erection of grinders are running at the same time at various stretches of the metro in Hyderabad city. The metro stations at Bangalore and Delhi are constructed on three pillars while stations at Hyderabad metro will be constructed on a single pillar (Sping and Wing model) which are prepared at metro rail casting yards. It is made sure that the pre-casting of these single pillars will cause no traffic problem.

Hyderabad metro rail project will run along 71.16 km distance with three corridors having 66 stations. Among these stations, six will be constructed between Mettuguda and Nagole stretch. Hopefully these stations will be completed and operational by the end of 2013 and 2014 respectively. Each station will be around 140 metres in length and 20 metres in width.

Corridor I extends form LB Nagar to Miyanagar where 27 stations will be constructed. Corridor II extends from JBS to Falaknuma where 16 stations will be constructed and finally Corridor II which extends from NAgole to Shilparaman will have 23 stations. There will also be three interchanging stations at Amberpet, MGBS and Parade Grounds which will provide movement of travelers from one route to another.

According to the managing director, each station will possess three levels i.e Ground, Ist level and IInd level. The first level which is the concourse level will have ticket counters while IInd level will have platforms. All these stations will also have escalators lifts and staircases. Along with these various facilities, the regular amenities like toilets , first aid medical assistance, mineral water, telephone facility will also be provided at I st level.

The metro stations are designed in such a pleasing way that they are user friendly, energy sufficient and most importantly environmental friendly.
