Illegal structures in Sindhdurga CRZ to be demolished soon
All the illegal structures in areas governed by the Coastal Regulation Zone notification have been directed to be demolished immediately.
The Sindhdurga collector has passed the order recently and has informed the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) to complete the survey of illegal structures.
The MCZMA has asked the district collector who is the chairperson of the District Coastal Zone Monitoring Committee to take immediate action against the violations of the CRZ Notification, 1991 as well as 2011.
The violations include construction in CRZ I area without permission. Also, construction undertaken without CRZ permission in CRZ II and III areas should also be listed and action taken on the same should be submitted within two months.
Coastal Zone Management Plan is to begin soon for Sindhdurga.
