Kanpur is filled with garbage
Kanpur- The local people of the industrial city are suffering due to the ongoing fight between the Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) and A2Z Infrastructures. Till now both parties have not reached to any decision over their contractual dispute.
The locals are compelled to live in extreme unhygienic conditions. One can find piles of garbage and worn out dustbins in every part of the Kanpur city. Every area whether it is posh localities like Kakadeo, Gumti, GT Road and VIP road or interior areas like Kidwai Nagar, Shyam Nqgar, Lal Bangla and Jajmau are filled with heaps of garbage.
It has now become a serious problem for residents and commuters as garbage at dustbins and yards are scattered by stray animals on road. A2Z civic workers are no more cleaning the areas due to delay in payment. Such a described scenario is visible near GT Road, Phoolbagh, Khapra Mohal, Baba Kuti, 80 feet Road, Rawatpur, Ramadevi.
The people of south Kanpur are in worst situation. Along with this problem they are also facing poor sewage disposal problems. Heaps of garbage lying there has now become a breeding place for mosquitoes. Residents are very annoyed with the insensitive attitude of municipal authorities of Kanpur city.
The situation is so awful that despite of giving house tax to KMC and monthly fee to A2Z Infrastructures, many residents of the city have hired private sanitary workers to clean their areas. It seems that the city will continue to face this situation till any conclusion arises.
If any among KMC and A2Z steps back, a big loss will be in their bags. KMC will have to pay annual charge to A2Z of 30 years. On the other hand A2Z will loose his possession of the Bhauti Treatment plant. The Municipal commissioner asked residents to keep patience and told that the dispute of two parties will be resolved soon.
