bridgeNoida- Effective from January 23, 2013, the Noida-Delhi stretch of the Kalindi Kunj Bridge will be closed for a month for the traffic due to its second phase revamping.

However, on the other side of the carriageway, only one-way traffic movement from Delhi to Noida will be allowed.

There are several measures being  put by the Noida traffic police and the DND Flyway operator  in order to deal with the traffic congestion which will be caused due to the detour. A detour of about 20-30 km will be experienced  by the commuters travelling from Noida towards Delhi and Faridabad.

The revamping is expected to create major traffic snarls on the main arterial roads which leads from Noida. There are almost 1.5 lakh vehicles commuting through the Okhla Barrage and Kalindi Kunj Bridge everyday. As per a traffic inspector, their police personnel will be posted at various important points within the city in order to ensure smooth and careful traffic.

The  inspector also stated that there will be a large amount of traffic on the link road between the Chilla Regulator at Delhi-Noida border up to Mahamaya flyover, they will seal the cuts along the route near the Sector 15A. A letter has also been written to the Delhi Police requesting to close the cut near the Nagarjuna Apartments whenever required.

Apart from these roads many other roads will also be closed due to the repair. There will be a no-entry zone on the free left turn leading from the Okhla Barrage towards Film City. The commuters can instead use the Sector 37 road and in case there is a traffic jam on the slip road towards DND, the commuters will be asked to commute through the Mayur Vihar link.
