SDMC demolishes illegal building in Hauz Khas
The South Delhi Municipal Corporation has started demolishing illegal buildings in Hauz Khas. The corporation successfully demolished two illegal constructions in the Hauz Khas village.
As per officials, stringent action will be taken against all the illegal constructions taken place after February 2007.
This issue was highlighted in the media and was also discussed in various meetings. Although fresh construction is allowed in the urbanized villages, people are still adding floors illegally.
Most importantly, this village is located near the monuments protected area and according to Monument Authority rules, no construction activity can be done within 100m of the protected monuments.
Officials admitted that there are many buildings in the area that are violating the building by-laws. The south zone department of the South corporation also had a survey to identify such structures in the area.
As per the DDA notification, it is strictly said to get building plan sanctioned in villages. But, officials claim that in the last few years, no building plans have been sanctioned.
