Stay order on cancellation of Noida extension flats
Greater Noida- Now the distressed home buyers of the Greater Noida West area (Noida Extension) need not run from post to post seeking help owing to the cancellation of their bookings as the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission has stayed the cancellation order of about 100 such flats offering relief to the buyers.
Earlier last month, the Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association which is led by the buyers’ umbrella body consisting of 47 buyers had approached the commission for a complaint against a private developer who had cancelled their bookings following the approval of the Greater Noida Master Plan 2021 by the NCR Planning Board (NCRPB), however the construction in the area was resumed. The commission had recently issued a notice to the private developer staying the cancellation order.
The stay on the cancellation order is a ray of hope for the buyers as the buyers’ association can now plan carefully and follow up the matter judiciously expecting that the commission will help them restore order in the area.
There were many countless representations made by the home buyers to the Union Urban Development Ministry, the developer’s body, NCRP, CREDAI and the Greater Noida Authority. There was also a complaint lodged with the CCI naming all the developers who have been issuing unauthorized demands and threats. Also the buyers have planned a protest at the Greater Noida West roundabout. Allegations of undue harassment on the pretext of demand for extra payments and threat of cancellation of bookings have been stated.
