Systra might work for DMRC
The work of designing and giving consultation on the metro-project has been given to a French company–’Systra’ which excels in engineering the public transport infrastructure across the globe. The company carries around 50 years of experience and is already assisting the Faridabad metro line.
While Systra is the design consultant, Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has emerged as the lowest bidder after the evaluation of financial bids for constructing about 8 km stretch of metro’s priority section. The work orders are being prepared at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) headquarters for both the companies.
Both companies should hopefully be appointed as our design and civil construction consultant in a week and the work on priority section would begin in the last week of September as said by a LMRC official.
This decision has been taken keeping in mind about the work and the other track records of this French company. Larsen and Tourbo have come up as the lowest bidder. Thus both the companies might probably be appointed as their design consultant. However things will be aware in a week or two.
