Rising power cut issues in Noida
Noida- Noida has been facing power issues from a long period of time, but the authorities do not seem to provide a permanent solution to the power issues.
Over the past few days, the city has reported massive power cuts. Failure of many power transformers at several substations has led to power cuts in the city.
According to sources from the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited, due to increased load, minimum six transformers which were managed by a private maintenance company have got damaged. The corporation has penalised the company and has asked to replace the transformers.
Officials of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited said that over the last two days, the load of electricity supply had been increased in the substations in Sector 10, 61 and 71 due to dip in temperatures. And as an outcome, the transformers in these substations caught fire due to heavy load.
Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) distributes power in Greater Noida, near Delhi in Uttar Pradesh, which is being developed as an industrial hub and urban settlements. The Company distributes power to a population of about 7 lakh spread across hamlets, villages and a new township in Noida spanning around an area of 335 sq. km.
